What’s in the Heritage Centre?

There is an exhibition on at present “WW2 Remembered”  – reflections on life in the area during thge war. It marks the 80th Anniversary of the end of WW2.              

The Old Stables Heritage Centre is open weekly until Sunday 5th October

The Old Stables Heritage Centre houses Coastlands Local History Group (CIO)’s archive. All these documents are available to members of the History Group and the general public when the Heritage Centre is open. Members of the public are able to use these resources to follow their own line of research. The Old Stables Heritage Centre is manned by volunteers who are only to happy to help visitors, answer questions and find documents if available.  The archive catalogue is available on this website.

The Old Stables Heritage Centre also houses a propeller from Wellington Bomber HX384 of 304(Polish) Sqd RAF, which crashed on take off from RAF Dale in 1942. The propeller was received by the group during ceremonies on 12th August 2015, the 73rd anniversary of the crash.
