2.00 pm ‘Dedication of a Stone Seat in Memory of the late Brigadier CTW Gough OBE’ – 1911-2001, L/Bdr Artificer at West Blockhouse Fort and Battery 1931-1935 – led by The Revd Dennis Wight, vicar of Dale Parish Church involving Bishop J Ivor Rees, former Bishop of St David’s, local, military and ex-service members with Honoured Guest Mrs Olive Gough [widow] and History Group members. Family members, ex-colleagues, friends, WI members, members of the community, and those involved in the construction of the stone seat and in the day’s celebrations were also guests.
2.45 pm Guided tour of the Fort with Ruth Davies, Regional Property Manager Landmark Trust

*’Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving’ led by The Revd Dennis Wight, vicar of Dale Parish Church involving Bishop J Ivor Rees, former Bishop of St David’s, local and military personnel, family members, comrades and friends of the fallen, those who served at Dale or left Dale to serve and the Band of Milford Haven Sea Cadets, etc

‘Life and works of Ray Howard-Jones’ – artist/female war artist – shared knowledge and experiences of Ray’s life and works with David Moore, Curator, Brecknock Museum

7 March 2003 National Park Award 2002

Biennial award. Jean Thomas and Mil Reynolds attended the Presentation of Awards and lunch. Dale W.I. received a Commendation for “Historical Interpretation of the Village of Dale”.
